In Colorado, you can personalize standard license plates for passenger vehicles, motorcycles, and commercial vehicles . Personalized plates must have the same color and design as a standard Colorado license plate.
Here's how to get your personalized Colorado plate:
- Apply online: Visit the Colorado DMV website and go to the `Replace license plates` section . Fill out the application with your vehicle and personalization information.
- Print and mail: Print the completed application, sign it, and mail it to the address provided.
- Wait for approval: If your application is approved, you'll receive a letter with payment instructions.
- Pay the fee: Submit your payment within 21 days of the date on the approval letter.

Important notes for Colorado residents:
